Merry Christmas to ALL!

Thanks to some generous Christmas contributions to our race journey, Priscilla and I were both able to complete the Michigan Titanium 140.6 registration Christmas Eve. We are both OFFICIALLY signed up. Official training plan begins January 22. Thanks to all our friends and family for your help and support as we start year two of our journey to 140.6. Merry Christmas!

Reindeer Romp 5K Jamestown, NC

This was my 3rd Reindeer Romp. This was the first time I have ever done it by myself. Actually there were a couple of firsts here this weekend. Having been a snowman the past 2 times, I decided to be a present this year. I was wearing a Rudolph top and red pants to match with bows on my hat. Well the red pants I picked were not going to work. They wouldn't stay up. The only other red pants I had were red jeans. Well, there's a first time for everything, so I ran in jeans (over my CW-X running tights of course). Also this was the first year TrivaP (Priscilla) was the race coordinator for the race. Her duties were many but one of which included biking the course during the run. The temperature at run start was a brisk 23°. At 9am dressed with bows on my hat and jeans I ran. I met some lovely people during my run as always. I love the interaction which is why I never wear headphones. At mile 2 the lying volunteers were shouting, "You are almost there." to which I ...

Protein anyone?

I had to share this first time experience with you all. I have been lucky this year. Danielle gets on the school bus at 6:30am which puts me at work at 7am. This means I am usually off by 4pm and running the track by 4:15pm. So I haven't had to run in the dark much. Tonight I was not so lucky. I did not begin my run until 4:45pm, so it got dark enough for the track lights to come on during my run. One more thing I must explain. No matter how hard I try to breathe in through my nose and out through my mouth I cannot do this while I run. I breathe in through the mouth and out through the mouth. So I was running on the track tonight, just about to complete mile 3 and start mile 4 when it happened. A bug went in through my mouth with that breath. All the way in and to the tonsils at least. Way in! I am still running. I feel it in the back of my throat WIGGLING. As I see it I had two choices, stop and try to throw up or drink some water and try to make it go down. I chose the later. I...

How to create a blog site ..........

My first suggestion and gut reaction would be DON'T! JUST DON'T! Holy crap I think swimming 2.4 miles, then biking 112 miles, then running 26.2 miles is going to be a piece of cake after fighting with this Blog Site! The funny part is that I work in IT (Information Technology). Most would assume this would be easy for me, but  let me tell you now that there are a lot of jobs in the Information Technology field and, contrary to my parents beliefs, to do mine I do not know everything about computers, and I do not have to know ANYTHING about setting up blog sites! So I am posting my first blog post now to see what it looks like and so that I can spend my upcoming weekend working more on this site. Thank goodness our official training program has not started! I am extremely thankful for Sunny Weathers who is an expert at these things and helping me navigate through these troubled waters (she is also the sister who is mentioned in my bio :-))
